Wheel Alignment Service
Your wheels should work together, not against each other. Alignment assessment measures their geometry against vehicle-specific specifications and helps identify adjustments or repairs needed for proper tracking.
Request a Wheel Alignment AssessmentThree angles you may see on an alignment report.
Specifications and adjustment options vary by vehicle. These measurements are interpreted together with suspension condition and other relevant geometry.
Toe
Toe describes whether the wheels point inward or outward when viewed from above. Incorrect settings can contribute to tire wear and tracking concerns.
Camber
Camber describes the inward or outward tilt of a wheel when viewed from the front. The correct range depends on the vehicle’s design.
Caster
Caster describes the steering axis tilt when viewed from the side. It influences steering characteristics and is not adjustable on every vehicle.
Changed tracking deserves more than an adjustment guess.
A curb strike, pothole impact, collision, or certain suspension repairs can warrant an alignment review. New handling concerns should be assessed in context.
Pulling does not always mean misalignment. Tire condition, pressure, brake drag, and road conditions can also influence how the vehicle tracks.
Signs worth reporting
- The steering wheel sits off-center while traveling straight.
- Tires develop unusual or uneven wear patterns.
- The vehicle’s tracking changes after an impact.
- Handling feels different following suspension work.
- A previous alignment could not bring measurements into specification.
Some readings call for repair before alignment.
Worn joints, damaged bushings, bent components, or incorrect ride height can affect alignment readings. These conditions may need correction before meaningful final adjustments can be made.
An angle outside its specified range is not automatically adjustable. Further inspection may be required to establish why it differs and what repair is appropriate.
Discuss related steering and suspension concernsA useful alignment starts with the right prerequisites.
Tire pressures, loading, ride height, and equipment setup can matter to the procedure. The applicable vehicle instructions determine what must be checked.
Review the complaint and vehicle condition
Discuss symptoms and recent work, then evaluate relevant tire and suspension concerns.
Measure against the correct specifications
Identify the vehicle configuration and obtain alignment readings using the appropriate setup.
Adjust where permitted
Complete available adjustments after prerequisites are satisfied. Explain readings that require additional investigation or repair.
Review final readings and related requirements
Check results and identify applicable steering-angle, calibration, or road-test procedures.
Know what the service can—and cannot—correct.
Is wheel alignment the same as wheel balancing?
No. Alignment concerns wheel geometry. Balancing addresses weight distribution in a tire-and-wheel assembly. A vehicle may need either service or both, depending on the concern.
Do all vehicles need a four-wheel alignment?
The appropriate measurement and adjustment procedure depends on the vehicle. Rear geometry can affect tracking even when rear adjustments are limited or unavailable.
Will an alignment fix steering-wheel vibration?
Not necessarily. Tire or wheel problems, worn parts, and other conditions can cause vibration. Identify the source before selecting the service.
Can an alignment repair existing tire wear?
No. Correcting geometry may address a contributor to future wear, but it does not restore tread already worn away. Tire condition needs separate assessment.
Do new tires always require an alignment?
New tires do not automatically change alignment. However, reviewing geometry can be useful when previous tires show uneven wear, handling concerns exist, or the vehicle’s requirements call for it.
Does wheel alignment replace ADAS calibration?
No. These are separate procedures. Depending on the vehicle and work performed, alignment may be followed by a required steering-angle procedure or ADAS calibration.
How much does wheel alignment cost?
Pricing depends on vehicle configuration, available adjustments, component condition, and required related procedures. Share your vehicle details and symptoms for an estimate.
Can I request the alignment readings?
Ask about the available measurement report when arranging service. Review the initial and final readings alongside any limitations or recommended follow-up repairs.
